Vacuum Forming

This process can be used to form plastic into permanent objects such as signs, protective coverings, or what is now commonly known as blister packaging.
Kiel has two machines of a vastly different nature. One is for high production, small blister type packaging of up to approximately 600mm squared, the other, a much larger machine capable of low production runs, handles sizes up to 2.4 metres by 1.2 metres.

Production for Both High-Volume and Short-run Manufacturing

Vacuum forming is a simplified version of thermoforming where a sheet of plastic is heated to a forming temperature and stretched onto a single surface mould and forced against the mould by vacuum.
